Wisteria floribunda Multijuga - Japanese Wisteria - Grafted Plant in 9cm Pot
Wisteria are perhaps one of the most memorable of all our climbing plants. In full flower they literally "cascade" with large racemes of often fragrant pea like flowers. Wisteria floribunda Multijuga (also known as Naga Noda and Macrobotrys) has been granted the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Huge racemes, up to I mtr long, of fragrant, pea-like, lilac tinged blue purple flowers in May and June. The attractive light green leaflets turn yellow in autumn. Ensure it is planted in a location that has sufficient room to allow for the very long flowers to hang naturally. Can be grown in the garden in a sunny or semi shade location. It can easily be grown in a pot. Wherever you plant it, it will need something to grow up! When growing in a pot or other container. Use a good quality compost. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 8-9 month applied in the late spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year.
Please note: All our Wisteria are grafted plants. Cheaper seed or cutting raise plants will take approx. 15 years to flower. Grafted plants will flower in around 2 years.
