Prunus x subhirtella. Autumnalis Rosea - Winter Cherry - Plant in 2 L Pot
Prunus x subhirtella are unknown in the wild having originally arisen as a cross between Prunus incisa and Prunus pendula. They are some of the most delightful of the winter and early spring flowering trees or shrubs and additionally provide attractive autumn tints. Prunus x subhirtella Autumnalis Rosea is a small, deciduous, tree or shrub that produces clusters of small pink, flushed white, semi double flowers from November to March. There will rarely be a winter's day when this lovely plant does not have some blooms open and in mild weather flushes of flowers are produced. Easy to grow in a sunny location in almost any soil. These trees grow particularly well in chalky soils and are favoured for winter flower arrangements. Superb as a garden plant or grown in a pot. When growing in a pot or other container use a good quality compost. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 8-9 month applied in the early spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year.
The plants in this listing are grown as multi branched shrubs, ideal for locations where space is limited or in pots and containers.
