The Witch Hazels are a superb winter flowering plant. Originating from Eastern North America and Eastern Asia. Those commonly grown in our gardens are nearly all from cultivation. Anyone looking for winter colour would do well to consider these beautiful small shrubs with their unusual spidery flowers and many have a delicious, sweet fragrance. Hamamelis x intermedia is a cross between Chinese witch hazel (Hamamelis mollis) and Japanese witch hazel (Hamamelis japonica). Hamamelis x intermedia Pallida is a spreading plant that bears dense clusters of sweetly fragrant, spidery yellow flowers on bare branches from December to March. In autumn its bright green leaves turn to attractive shades of yellow. It makes an excellent cut flower. Hamamelis x intermedia Pallida has been granted the RHS Award of Garden Merit. This shrub can be grown in a pot or container. When growing in a pot or other container. Use a good quality, ericaceous compost. These plants are not ericaceous, but for best results they prefer a slightly acid soil. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 8-9 month applied in the early spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year.

This listing is for second year, grafted plants that are approximately 30 to 40cm tall. Grafting ensures a plant that is true to type and capable of excellent performance over many decades.
