Ceratostigma plumbaginoides - Hardy Plumbago - Plant in 2 L Pot
Orginating from Western China. A lovely smaller, prostrate plant, that seems to struggle to decide if it is a shrub or a herbaceous plant! Whichever, it is delightful in whatever location you decide to use it. Dark green leaves take on a striking reddy hue in autumn and the glorious rich blue flowers are produced freely from mid summer until well into autumn. A superb late season flowering plant that has been granted the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Easy to grow in any reasonable, free draining soil, in full sun or semi shade. This plant can be used in a mixed planting or as a stand alone specimen in the garden or a container. If planting in a pot or other container. Use a good quality compost. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 5-6 month applied in the early spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year.
