3X Parthenocissus quinquefolia - Virginia Creeper - Plants in 9 cm Pots
This listing is for 3 x plants.
Parthenocissus quinquefolia is a fast growing, deciduous, self clinging climber, native to the USA, Mexico, east Asia and the Himalays and has been growing in the Uk from around 1629! Very popular for its spectacular, vibrant, rich orange and crimson autumn colours and its ability to cover whatever it is planted against quickly with layers of attractive leaves. The flowers are small and unimpressive, however in autumn lots of dark blue bloomy berries are not uncommon. Will grow to considerable height/length so pruning is often necessary after a few years. Performs best on a part shaded or north facing wall but will grow in full sun as long as the soil is always moist. Will grow in almost all soil types. Can be grown in a pot. When growing in a pot or other container. Use a good quality compost. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote 8-9 month applied in the late spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year.
